MESSAGE FROM DEAN MITCH FIELDS
This is a very exciting time for the Odette School of Business.
Among our faculty’s top achievements is accreditation by the Association for Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business in 2015. AACSB is recognized worldwide as the premier accrediting body of business schools, putting Odette among the top five percent of business schools worldwide that meet their standards.
In March 2017, Odette formally launched the John Simpson Odette Student Investment Fund. The fund, based on a generous contribution from alumnus John Simpson, enables teams of students to make trading decisions in real markets with real funds. It complements our world-class Financial Markets Lab. Our faculty members are doing great things in terms of research, teaching and student engagement, with full-time faculty numbers approaching a record high of 70. Growth, engagement, and impact mean tremendous things in Odette’s future.
Proposed Student Success Centre—repurpose existing space to create success and learning opportunity space.
Continued financial support for world-class finance lab.
Student engagement funds to support travel to case competitions, student conferences, and opportunities to travel with faculty members to such destinations as the Academy Awards.
Dean’s Discretionary Fund for faculty and student initiatives so that the OSB can nimbly respond to opportunities such as experiential learning within the community and cutting-edge research programs.
